Villa Sa Riera

Villa Sa Riera is a beautiful, family-owned six-bedroom villa with its own private pool and a large terrace with sweeping views across the sea and the Islas Medes. Privately run and thoughtfully equipped, it makes a wonderful base for families or groups wanting to explore the Costa Brava at their own pace.

Sleeps up to 13 guests (maximum 10 adults) across 3 en suite doubles, 1 triple and 2 twin rooms (one en suite), plus 5 bathrooms in total.

A few things that make Villa Sa Riera special: the pool can be heated on request using an environmentally friendly air source heat pump (€150 per week), ideal for spring and autumn stays. Outside, there's a wood-fired teppanyaki hotplate and barbecue for evening meals, and a shaded lunch table beneath a beautiful old olive tree that's hard to leave once you've sat down.

A midweek clean is included, a welcome pack awaits on arrival (including wine!), and cots and high chairs are available free of charge. We also keep a guest book with recommendations for local beaches, restaurants and things to do, and are always happy to help with advice before and during your stay.

This part of the Costa Brava is far more a retreat for Spaniards than a destination for foreign tourists, which is exactly what makes it special. As well as the coast with its coves, beaches and crystal clear water, the area has some of the best diving in Spain (including Spain's only protected national marine park), nine golf courses within easy reach, plus walking, mountain biking and horse riding throughout the year. In winter, you can enjoy sunshine on the coast and still be in the Pyrenees for skiing within two hours.

The villa sits between Begur and Sa Riera beach, both around one mile away. Begur has cobbled streets, a large central square, excellent restaurants, tapas bars and an open-air pizza restaurant, with independent boutiques open late into summer evenings. Sa Riera beach is about 15 minutes on foot, it is a lovely walk down, though it's uphill on the way home! We advise a car for supermarket shopping and visiting the wider coastline.
